Gregorio Moya y Payo Humberto
 

Dear friends,

On 21 april, there is an important show of the talented flamenco singer Gregorio Moya. I have the honour to accompany him. On 22 and 23 april there are performances in the dance studio of Ricardo Sibeló in Zoetermeer which the concert on Saturday night april 22, though the most special is as after the break to hear the famous Cuban ensemble of Estudiantina Ensemble will be. There will also be on this evening at a small additional cost Spanish tapas. On april 23, there will be an afternoon matinee. With great pleasure we see you accommodate for these performances. More information about you will be kept informed.

23 JUNI - UN  HOMBRE DEL CANTE: ARIE SNEEUW


Vorig jaar overleed de grote flamenco aficionado Arie Sneeuw. Hij was een van de grootste flamencokenners buiten Spanje en daarnaast ook een niet onverdienstelijk flamencozanger. Hij werkte als tolk/vertaler Spaans en publiceerde zelf een boek over flamenco in het Madrid van de 19de eeuw. Arie Sneeuw bezat een zeer omvangrijk flamenco-archief en vanavond duikt een van de beste flamencovrienden van Arie Sneeuw, gitarist Huib Wilkes (El Payo Humberto) met samensteller Marlous Lazal, de meest bijzondere stukken op.

Oude en nieuwere opnames van onder meer de zangers Juan Varea, Antonio Mairena en Don Antonio Chacon, vaak begeleid door gitarist Nino Ricardo, waar Arie Sneeuw en Huib Wilkes gedurende hun flamencovriendschap zo vaak over spraken. Het gesprek zal gaan over het compas van Cadiz, het opsporen van oude zangers en verloren gewaande liederen, drank en juergas en natuurlijk over de drie hoofdthema’s van de flamenco: leven, liefde en dood. Het tweede deel van het programma zal bestaan uit een aantal bijzondere live-opnames van flamencozangers Enrique Morente uit 1971 en Carmen Linares, favorieten van de hoofdpersoon van dit posthume eerbetoon: Arie Sneeuw.
